More Location Scouting

More Locations

Before summarising our plot ideas, we decided to go out and search for more locations in London, usually associated with the horror genre. This would give us an guideline on how to storyboard our final plot idea, and whether to conform or subvert the typical locations used in Horror movies
This is All Saints church, just outside Brixton in South London. At Night, this is the ideal location for:
Gothic Horror Movies,  Monster Horror Movies, and maybe Paranormal/Supernatural Horror movies. It's well lighted in the
front, but has some trees circling the back.

This is a private school situated in South East London. This location isn't frightening at day, but the red and yellow lighting
in the background turn an ordinary school building into something more sinister, which is an ideal location for several
sub-genres, including zombies, monsters and slashers

Here is another photo of the school. A long shot view of the school with additional blackened trees in the foreground
help make the location look haunted.

This is an abandoned house situated in South West London. Over here, apart from some distant streetlights, there is
almost an absolute darkness, making it ideal to shoot during early dusk, although there may be problems with continuity , since the lighting here depends on the presence of sunlight.

Another shot of the same abandoned house.

Here, is a side view of a church in the central of Greenwich.

A forest location during autumn and winter is ideal for horror movies which take place within the woods, for example, Cabin in the Woods,

A graveyard in Bexley; not many people frequent it, so it would give us a quiet place to film.
